MMA Returns to Sarnia Ontario

Professional Fighting Series(SARNIA, ONTARIO) – The wait is finally over for the city’s MMA fans, as Avant Guard Productions is proud to be bringing back professional MMA back to the City of Sarnia. On June 14th, White Plains Auto body Presents Pro Fighting Series 3 will be live at the Sarnia Arena on 134 Brock Street. As the first two events showed, the people of Sarnia are proud supporters of the sports of Mixed Martial Arts.

The event will be headlined by one of the country’s top fighters as Jesse ‘The Ghost’ Gross is looking to put together another highlight reel performance in his return to Sarnia. In addition to local favourite Gross, the event will feature some of Sarnia’s most talented athletes as Joel Paquette, Marcello Solinas, Woodrow James and Bobbi Jo Dalziel are scheduled to compete.

In addition to the city’s best, the event will feature some of the best that Ontario has to offer as Devin Murray, Oliver Vadnais, Bryan Jordan, Blake Nash, Dave Hale and Neelan Hordatt are all scheduled to fight. With some of the provinces most exciting fighters, Pro Fighting Series 3 is another event you don’t want to miss. The only way to watch the event will be live in the arena, so this is something you don’t want to miss out.

To celebrate the beginning of summer, tickets for the event will be available starting at $38 with all taxes and fees included. If you are inclined to get up close to the action, a limited supply of VIP tickets will be available. Tickets are available Friday May 9 at 10:30am at all Harvey’s Sarnia Location and at Fuel Factory on Murphy Road. Also, you may purchase tickets through the fighters competing at the event to help support them personally.

With over ten (10) fights with non-stop action, expect edge of seat action at the White Plains Autobody Presents Pro Fighting Series 3 and a night all fight fans will enjoy.

Main Card
Ryan Dickson vs. Brandt Dewsbery
Round 1
Ryan Dickson gets Dewsbery flattened out and keeps him there while continuing to look for the Submissions with 6 seconds left in the rounds works for a rear naked choke and was able to lock it in, but just not enough time.

Round 2
Dickson again gets the back early of Dewsbury however with dewsbury working a lot harder this round to not stay in this position. Dewsbury able to switch and get the back of Dickson. Here we go again we have Dickson taking the back again and putting a tight body triangle on. Dickson is able to obtain and Lock in a Rear Naked Choke which gets his opponent to tap too in the last 30 seconds of the round.

Jason Saggo vs. Iraj Hadin
Round 1
After both fighters feeling each other out and checking distance in the first round, Hadin gets Saggo pressed up against the cage. while Saggo able to secure a take down and ends up on his opponents back and works for many submissions to keep Iraj guessing where he is going.
Round 2
Pretty much a photocopy of the beginning of the first round with Saggo again on the back of Hadin. Hadin able to escape and land some strikes getting his opponent moving back. While moving backwards he was able to sneak in a single leg and again gets the back of Hadin. Hadin leaves a little opening and gives up his neck and Saggo capitalizes and gets the tap by Rear Naked Choke.

Winner: Jason Saggo via Rear naked choke.

Alex Ricci vs. Kevin Morin
Round 1
Morin comes in fast and gets the double leg take down and gets Ricci on his back. With Ricci pinned up against the Fence Morin able to land a couple knees. Morin keeping Ricci pinned up against the fence while Ricci on his knees. Ricci able to climb the cage and gets back on his feet. Fighters get back to their feet and working the striking game in the centre of the ring. Morin again looks for the double leg and able to take Ricci back to the Canvas. Morin doing a great job pinning Ricci against the cage. Ricci locking up the right arm of Morin while he able to land some elbows that appears to get an gash on the right eye.

Round 2
Morin again coming out flying wwith the strikes. Morin wanting to stand and trade with Ricci. Morin eats and Knee while driving in for a double leg. Fighters fighting from the fence where Ricci landing Short elbows to the face of Morin including a Knee from the fence. Ricci now pushing the pace of the fight while working off the cage . The break with 1 min left in the round and Ricci lands a beautifully landed elbow again to the face. Ricci lands some huge punches in the dying seconds of round

Round 3
Morin starts the round again looking desperate and looking for the a knockout out of the gate. Ricci brings the fight to the cage and lands a couple knees to Morin. Morin gets Ricci pinned up against the fence again but Ricci able to through punches from the ground. Ricci back to his feet and landing short upper cut elbows in tight space. Morin not doing much by pinning his opponent to the cage. Morin not giving up attempts for a single leg takedown to try and steal points in the round. I don’t think he did enough to score the win on this round.

William Romero vs. Tristan Johnson
Round 1
Yves lavigne gets both fighters off. Both fighters choose to stand and check distance. Johnson drops Romero with a straight right and pounces on him. Romero recovers and gets back to his feet. Romero a little cautious in throwing any strikes and sits on heels. Both fighters Still looking for find their distance. Tristan Johnson looks to have found the distance to outstrike his foe in the last minute

Round 2
Johnson stuns Romero with another straight right. Johnson with the reach looks to be landing the greater percentage of power shots. Both fighters have no problem turning this fight into a boxing match rather then MMA fight. Romero gets inside and lands a basic combo. Johnson’s right eye looks to be closed and Romero capitalizing on it.

Round 3
Both fighters must know this fight is close and not wanting to leave it in the judges hands. They are both continuing to strike in bunches back and forth. Although still with the right eye of Johnson closing. Romero continues able to capitalize on that side of the body. Johnson sends the head of Romero back and both fighters going back and forth. Johnson gets the double leg take down which Romero wants nothing to do with it and scrambles back to his feet.

Jesse Ronson vs. Ryan Healy
Round 1
Its apparent that Ryan Healy doesn’t want to trade with Jesse Ronson. Healy continues going for a take down which Ronson is doing a great job of keeping the fight on his feet. Ronson continues to land at will with elbows, Jabs, Stikes and kicks to the head and body.

Round 2
Ronson continues to land at will. Rocks Healy with a right but Healy continues moving forward. Healy goes again for the takedown and Ronson defends the takedown well and continues to keep the fight standing and frustrating Healy. Ronson Lands left roundhouse to the ribcage and followed up with a roundhouse kick to each side of the head and including a knee that had Healy rocked. Healy looks like he is almost out but Ronson doesnt have enough in him to finish him. Ryan Healy is doing a great job of hanging on in this round after the onslaught delivered by the Body Snatcher.

Round 3

Ronson comes out and again visibly rocks Healy. Healy with his arms falling and hanging around this waist not much action from the Team quest native. Healy scores a take down and and gets a Ronson in Guillotine choke. Fight back the feet likely where Ronson would like to keep the fight here. Ronson drops Healy with the round house kcik to front of the thighs. Holy moly Healy gets back to his feet and Ronson lands two roundhouse kicks to the side of Healy’s head and Healy still moving forward and gives it all he has to finish the round out.

Jordan Mein vs. Forrest Petz
Round 1
Jordan Mein moving around while Petz looking for the distance. Mein swarms and tags Petz which gets him moving backwards. Petz is rocked and on the canvas. Mein landing the ground and pound with hundreds of punches while Petz has no answer. Petz gets back to his feet and Ronson is relentless and continues to land at will. Petz back on his butt and Referee Yves Jumps in and save the fighter.
